He is one of our most popular athletes in Sweden.
But now a completely different side of Thomas Wassberg is revealed.
Son Björn Wieser reveals to the Swedish people what the father is like as a grandfather.
He dominated the ski slopes and became one of our biggest sporting icons of all time. Thomas Wassberg was a devil at cross-country skiing and became extremely popular in our long country.
Wassberg’s son
He won an incredible four Olympic golds and three World Cup golds during his successful skiing career. Afterwards, the quiet Värmlander who found a home in Jämtland has been seen a lot in various TV programs such as “Master of Masters”, “Let’s Dance” and “Over the Atlantic”.

Wassberg is now highly topical in the TV box with Kanal 5’s new major investment “Race across the world” where he unexpectedly competes together with his own son Björn Wieser. He has stayed out of the limelight all these years but is now coming forward and giving a whole new picture of his father.
Paying tribute to his father
The Swedish TV viewers who have learned about Björn through the program see many similarities in Thomas Wassberg. Kanal 5 has shared a clip from the program that really shows how quiet father and son Wassberg are.
– Yes…, says Thomas in an oxygen-poor conversation.
– We don’t talk much. Or well, we talk but we’re few words, so you might say, Björn then says.
– I don’t have the need to talk when you don’t need to talk. Perhaps you are a little bad at showing emotions, or talking. I think it has a lot to do with upbringing, childhood and the surrounding environment you lived in, says Thomas again.

The nice pictures of the Wassbergs have attracted attention and many love how they are fully themselves, despite the television cameras. The son Björn Wieser then opens up in the most beautiful way about how the father shows his love in the best way.
– Dad is very supportive. He has always had a lot going on, but he has always made time for someone if you needed help. He is still like that with my children. When they are visiting, he takes his time and plays with the children. Or build something, ride a scooter or fish, he says in the TV program Race across the world Sweden.
