SVT has previously talked about the bathhouse building, which has become a costly history, to say the least. Initially, the municipality expected it to cost 550 million, but the billion has been cracked for a long time – and now another 120 million is needed.
In a request for another supplementary budget for the bathhouse building, it is clear that the costs of removing detected deficiencies have pulled away.
“The identified quality deficiencies have during the winter led to extensive rebuilding and renovations, which in turn has led to increased time for the construction project,” they write in the supplementary bag.
The final cost for the bathhouse is now estimated to land at close to SEK 1.37 billion. The quality deficiencies, which now cost a lot of money to remedy, are mainly due to deficiencies in the ventilation of the bathhouse.
A survey has revealed that the Kiruna residents did not want an adventure pool with 12-15 pools. Rather, the wish was to get something similar to the former bathhouse.
