This year too, the accessibility of polling stations will receive a lot of attention. Nearly all locations (716 out of 760) have wheelchair access. In thirteen Utrecht municipalities, mentally disabled volunteers help out at a polling station with a prokkel buddy. Aids are often available there, such as a magnifying glass or an enlarged list of candidates for people with a visual impairment. Voting booths have also been set up in healthcare institutions, so that residents do not have to go out to exercise their voting rights.
