Northvolt’s various companies have large debts with the Kronofogden and in total the various companies have approximately three million kroner in debts that are past due and may be subject to attachment. Of this, the biggest debt lies with Northvolt Ett AB, i.e. the factory company in Skellefteå.
– In the first place, we look at bank accounts to see if there are assets to be measured, says Sami Lundqvist, section manager at the Kronofogdemyndigheten in Skellefteå.
At the same time as Northvolt’s reconstruction process, chapter 11, is ongoing in the USA, the debts are piling up at the Crown Enforcement Agency in Sweden. According to an excerpt from the Crown Enforcement Agency, it is about SEK 360 million if you disregard the debts of Northvolt Expansion, which has already gone bankrupt.
The American process does not affect a possible seizure of the battery company’s assets.
– Swedish law applies, the company is based in Sweden and has assets in Sweden, says Sami Lundqvist.
SVT Nyheter Västerbotten has been in contact with Northvolt’s communications manager, who currently declines to comment.
