But being the Bachelorette of 2022 isn’t all a bed of roses. In an interview with News24 Olivia tells us that one of the hardest parts of the love journey was the rose ceremonies.

– I’m an emotional person, so I cried at almost every rose ceremony. Just because I think it’s so hard to hurt someone else. It was something that took a toll on me. Making so many decisions that affect other people takes an extremely heavy toll on you, says Olivia and continues:

– So it was very difficult, and especially when there were three or four left. I didn’t feel great all the time. I felt the decisions were right, but having to make them and having to tell someone you liked was a pain in the ass.

Olivia explains that even though there were people to share her emotions with, both at home in Sweden and in the production, she understands that it is difficult for anyone else to fully understand what she went through.

– You are very alone in your feelings, precisely because no one can really understand what it is like to be in that position. You become very lonely with your thoughts. Therefore, it can be an advantage to be several bachelors, because they can play with each other and understand exactly what they are going through.

– So you become very lonely in your thoughts, but there are many people around who support you, push you and cheer you on. So that helps.

In other words, there is no doubt that the rose ceremonies in particular were emotionally charged – both for Olivia and for the boys. And for the viewers at home on the TV couch, it’s not infrequently a real nail-biter when one rose at a time is handed out until one or more guys run out.

But how does it actually work in practice? Is it Olivia herself who chooses how the roses are to be distributed, or does the production have a hand in the game? How is the order actually determined?

– The roses are based on what I have said, so I know who are hanging loose. But it’s a TV show, so you want to create an atmosphere. So it’s both, Olivia tells Nyheter24.

So it turns out that there is some kind of mix between Olivia’s decision and the production’s choice of order. But in the end, it is Olivia who knows which guys are at the bottom, and who risks leaving Crete without love.
