The athletics European Championship team was completed a total

In the second selection, the Finnish Sports Federation has named 7.–12. 42 athletes to the team competing in the EC competitions in Rome in June.

On Wednesday, the Finnish Sports Federation announced 42 athletes in Rome from the 7th to the 12th. for the European Athletics Championships in June. Previously, 15 athletes had already been named to the team.

– Now there is a team of 57 athletes, which will be completed on Thursday, when the European Athletics Federation receives information from the federations of the different countries about which all eligible athletes are participating in the games, says SUL’s GM Jani Tanskanen.

From the previous European Championships in Munich 2022, the Finnish team collected four medals. Munich medalists steeplechase Top Raitanena pole vaulter Wilma Murtoa triple jumper Kristiina Mäkelä and a javelin thrower Lassi Etelätalo are all on the team competing in Rome.

Etelätalo and were named in the men’s javelin on Wednesday Toni Keränen. Oliver Helander had already been selected before. In the women’s 100-meter hurdles, the previously chosen one Reetta Hurskeen national teammates in Rome are Lotta Harala and Nooralotta Neziri.

– It’s great that we have a full representation of three athletes in several sports at the European Championships. In a few sports, we had even more eligible athletes than that full quota. In the end, the choices of the representatives of these species were quite clear, Tanskanen stated.
