The whole of Sweden has become involved in the quarrel between Janne Andersson and Bojan Djordjic.
Then the Swedish Football Association responded – by liking a tweet about resignation demands for the association captain.
Now they explain what happened.
Sweden had won against Azerbaijan 5-0 in the second group stage of the EC qualifiers when Janne Andersson visited Viaplay’s studio after the match. The national team captain had not expected any critical questions, but when Bojan Djordjic, a long-time expert on the channel, asked about Jesper Karlsson’s limited playing time in the two opening games, the top hat went off for the national team captain.
Strong reactions
Andersson and Djordjic ended up in a heated exchange, where Djordjic interpreted Janne Andersson as racist, among other things, after a question about representation. It all ended with Andersson leaving the studio angrily, and afterwards there have been many reactions, and opinions differ, to say the least, about who made the most mistakes in the derailed interview.
On Tuesday, Janne Andersson held a press conference where he explained what had happened from his point of view, and he also said that he and the national team sought out Djordjic and Viaplay to explain themselves. Bojan Djordjic, for his part, said that the national team had not called until the press conference, and the expert also stood by what he thought and felt about what was divided after the 5-0 victory.

The explanation for the miss
On social media, many have commented on what happened, and on Tuesday, Swedish Football accounted for a strange miss on the social media Twitter. Suddenly, on the official channel, the confederation had liked a tweet where someone wrote that Bojan Djordjic should take over as confederation captain. The tweet was also hashtagged with “JanneOut”, suggesting that the national team captain should leave. But, if the union is to be believed, it was not about supporting the resignation of the union captain.
When Expressen talks to the association’s social media manager Andreas Hård, he tells us that it is a classic misprint, during an attempt to get the sometimes heated comment field in order.
– There was a mistake during the evening when we moderated our comment fields. Must have found the button, says Hård to the newspaper.
