The RN motion obtained 88 votes out of the 289 required to bring down the government. This rejection, after that of the left’s motion just before, which received 223 votes out of the 289 necessary, constitutes adoption at first reading of the “revenue” section of the Social Security budget.
Accused by the opposition of “trivializing” 49.3, the Prime Minister reproached them in return for their “lies” and “attempts at obstruction”, in front of a sparse hemicycle. “I act in the interest of the country and I take my responsibilities,” she said, defending a Social Security budget (PLFSS) which provides for “a further increase in resources” while “guaranteeing the financial sustainability of our model. The Assembly “does not want your budget”, told him the LFI deputy Hadrien Clouet. “Whether it’s out of disinterest, lack of seriousness or because you’re a jerk when it comes to social protection, you have to leave.” The elected RN Pierre Meurin had for his part denounced “a medical third worldization” of the country.
With the Republicans (LR) ruling out bringing down the government on a budget, the motions suffered the same fate as those rejected almost ten days ago. Their rejections then led to adoption of the “revenues” of the State budget (PLF) at first reading.
