The popular singer and actor Lasse Lönndahl is dead. He died on Monday morning, his family confirms to TT. He was 94 years old.
During the 1950s, he became Sweden’s first teen idol and had many record successes. Lönndahl had 37 hits on the Svensktoppen and appeared in several films, TV shows and musicals.
The record debut took place in 1949 with “Tangokavaljeren”. The breakthrough was followed by “Volare”, “Cindy min Cindy”, “Love letters in the sand” and “Tulips from Amsterdam”.
He was considered to be Sweden’s greatest artist in the 50s and 60s.
