The artist Alf Jarnestad would have turned 100 years old – now the children are publishing a book about the father

Alf Jarnestad started his career as an artist in Gustavsberg in the 40s, where he had the designer Stig Lindberg as his mentor. After 10 years, he got employment at the Karlskronas porcelain factory, part of Upsala Ekeby. There he designed several classics, such as the Tivoli tableware and the Alfa vases.

But he also took the artistic turns.

– He is starting to break these rules that things must have some type of function, says Johan Jarnestad.

After 12 years, he ended his employment at the porcelain factory and moved out to Bubbetorp, where he also had his studio.

Hear the children talk about their father and his artistry in the clip.
