21-year-old Moa Renlund Bergman just came home from Malaysia with three golds and one bronze.
– To be able to stand at the top of the podium and hear the Swedish national anthem. It’s big, says the world champion to SVT.
Strong in both arms
She originally comes from Slagnäs in Norrbotten’s hinterland but has moved south and today competes for Storuman Armsport.
In Malaysia, Moa competed in the +78 kilogram class.
– In total there were two J21 golds, left and right arm. In the senior class, there was a gold in the left and a bronze in the right.
Broke the boys down at school
How did you get into arm wrestling?
– It was when I was in the seventh grade in Arjeplog that I became interested in arm wrestling and for the most part I won over both the girls and the boys there.
Today, Moa trains at least 7-8 hours a week and in March next year the SM in Luleå awaits.
