Spanish amnesia in front of its past
2025 is placed in Spain Under the sign of commemorations, 50 years after the end of the Franco’s dictatorship. The wounds of those of the civil war, but also of the Francoist repression which followed are still lively, as the country has locked itself under a chappe of silence.
It is estimated that there are today in Spain 600 to 800 common pits, with thousands of bodies of republicans condemned by a justice Franco expeditious. Families seek to exhume these bodies, with difficulty. Corpses that are still in “The abyss of oblivion” is the title of the album signed Paco Roca and Rodrigo Terrasa which appears at Delcourt editions.
