But now a massive storm of criticism against the Swedish Olympic Committee has been brought to life.

On Wednesday, the Swedish national team was confirmed for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Then six lucky athletes had the great honor of cashing in their Olympic tickets.

Several sports Swedes have expressed their clear criticism of the Olympic selections.
“My own country prevents me from participating,” writes the high jumper Maja Nilsson on social media.
“I received an invitation to participate, but SOK has decided to deny it,” writes the hurdler Emil Blomberg.
“I am now a 2x Olympic qualifier who has been denied selection 2x,” writes the middle- and long-distance runner Yolanda Ngarambe.
“Inconsistent”
Above all, the criticism is about the fact that several Swedish athletes have passed the qualification limit according to the rules of the International Association of Athletics Federations, but were then snubbed by the SOK.
– These are inconsistent and subjective assessments. Partly it is poor transparency, you are not allowed to take part in what leads to a certain decision, says the hurdler Simon Sundström to SVT.

The committee selects athletes on either the basic criterion of being able to reach the top 12 at the Olympics or the future criterion, where promising athletes under the age of 25 get the chance to show themselves at the Olympics. Therefore, Swedish athletes who have passed the international qualification limit can be stopped by the SOK from going to the Olympics.
Jeng’s criticism
Now the SVT expert is responding Alhaji Jeng the major criticism and sends a clear volley of criticism to SOK.
– I don’t think it should be some kind of cream of the crop, but if you have passed the qualification limit, you should have the opportunity to represent your country in the biggest context and I understand the frustration of the active people who put their soul into this for days on end, says Jeng , who want to remove the top 12 requirement.

The places that Sweden’s Olympic Committee renounces instead go to other countries according to a ranking system, which means that worse athletes get to participate in the Olympics at the expense of Swedish athletes.
