The United States Hockey Association announced Thursday that it will honor the brothers with helmet decals on national teams at all levels throughout the season.

NHL hockey player Johnny Gaudreau31, passed away together with his brother By Matthew Gaudreau29, with in a traffic accident at the end of August.

United States Ice Hockey Federation announced on Thursday that they will honor the brothers with helmet stickers on national teams of all levels throughout the season. The sticker has Gaudreau’s name and the jersey numbers of Johnny (13) and Matthew (21) around the hockey sticks.

Executive Director of the United States National Ice Hockey Teams Pat Kelleher said in his statement that the memory of the Gaudreau brothers lives on.

– Johnny and Matthew and their families will forever be part of the American hockey family. This is a small way to honor their memory, but also to help keep their inner essence for our great game.

Johnny Gaudreau won the world championship in the under-20 world championships in 2013 for the USA team. He also represented the country four times in the men’s world championships.
