Ice hockey player Jonathan Toews36, has yet to officially announce the end of his career. The last NHL game of Toews, who won the Stanley Cup three times as captain of the Chicago Blackhawks, is from April 2023.
The Canadian’s contract with Chicago expired in the summer of 2023. At that time, Toews announced his retirement from hockey for the season.
Toews has long suffered from health problems. He missed the entire 2020-2021 season due to immune system issues. After his return, he was sidelined for a long time due to prolonged corona.
The hockey player has now opened up about his situation on social media.
– The story is too long to tell in detail, but for almost five years I have been looking for a cure for the immune system problems that drove me away from hockey.
Toews said he was on a “healing journey” in India. He says that he spent five weeks at a health camp called Panchakarma.
The trip has also taught the hockey player about life.
– Not only has it taught me better dietary options, but it has also deepened my intuitive relationship with myself and the world around me, Toews wrote on Instagram.
It’s been 1.5 seasons since Toews announced his retirement. He has not yet announced his future plans.
In addition to the Stanley Cup, Jonathan Toews has won the Olympic gold and the men’s and youth world championships in his career.
