The Aliot Bardella duel to take the lead of the National

Who will replace Marine Le Pen at the head of the National Rally (RN)? It is now official, the duel to take the presidency of the party will see Louis Aliot and Jordan Bardella clash. The second, current acting president, unsurprisingly formalized his candidacy on social networks, Wednesday August 31, a month after his competitor. Voting by members will begin at the end of September, before formalizing the results at the congress organized on November 5.

The battle at the National Rally is officially open. On one side: Louis Aliot, 52, mayor of Perpignan and historical executive of the RN. On the other: Jordan Bardella, soon to be 27, MEP, current acting president of the party and symbol of the new frontist generation.

The second formalized his candidacy on the morning of this Wednesday, August 31 through a letter intended for activists. Louis Aliot has already launched his campaign, Saturday August 27, during a meeting in his stronghold of Pyrénées-Orientales.

Basically, the two relatives of Marine Le Pen are on the same identity line, safe and popular. Officially, the finalist of the last presidential election has decided not to referee this match between two very different personalities, even if Jordan Bardella appears to be his foal and his natural successor. But the duel is not won in advance.

Whatever the outcome of the congress, the result will be historic, since it will be the first time that the party to the flame will not be led by a member of the Le Pen family.
