The Prequel series from the Alien universe is coming at us with big Xenomorph steps. What was missing until now: an official title for the sci-fi horror from the US broadcaster FX.
But that is in the past, because the series project by Noah Hawley (Fargo) finally has a name that reveals the never-visited setting.
Alien: Earth – On Earth, everyone hears you when you scream
The sci-fi horror will be titled Alien: Earth, reports Variety , which puts the action right on our earthly doorstep. The story takes place long before human machinations in space and will revolve around the competition between major corporations such as the nefarious Weyland Yutani Corporation that create lifelike androids. Will the Xenomorph aliens play a role at all? According to a THR interview with the showrunner, yes, but they want to ignore the origin story of the alien monsters established in Prometheus: Dark Signs.

Aliens – The Return
The somewhat unspectacular title may refer to the film sequel Alien 5, which never came to fruition. Its treatment by screenwriter Stuart Hazeldine was called Alien: Earthbound and would have given franchise badass Ripley an adventure on Earth. However, Sigourney Weaver had no interest in the setting, according to the archived 2009 MTV Movies blog about the film.
In any case, the Alien series seems to be a priority at FX, judging by the recent Variety interview with channel boss John Landgraf:
We are pretty obsessed with Alien: Earth and have [Noah Hawley] told him to focus on that and write at least two seasons before moving on to a possible Season 6 of Fargo, in the event that Alien: Earth becomes a recurring series, as we hope.
A second season of the sci-fi horror with Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant and Co. has not yet been officially ordered. The first season is set to air in the first half of 2025 appear.
