The reason is a conflict between SL/Region Stockholm and the city of Stockholm regarding the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle bridge, according to the newspapers.
The alarm comes from a letter that SL’s CEO sent to the City of Stockholm’s exploitation office, and which the newspapers took notice of. It states that the region is forced to stop all subway traffic between the two stations, if the city begins piling work in connection with the construction of the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge.
SL and the City of Stockholm disagree about the risks
According to the newspapers, SL and the City of Stockholm, which is responsible for the construction of the new bridge, disagree on whether it poses any risks to subway traffic. The region therefore believes that traffic must be shut down, while the City of Stockholm believes that the risks are non-existent.
Work on the new bridge is expected to start in the autumn, something SVT Nyheter Stockholm previously reported on.
