The fact that the number of people hospitalized with covid-19 is increasing in Sweden has consequences for healthcare.
In Region Stockholm, those responsible are sounding the alarm that the care queue that has built up during the pandemic is becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
At Danderyd hospital, operations that are not urgent are still being postponed due to patients being treated for covid.
– When the summer is over, we will start working on eliminating the large care queues we have, and we don’t have the energy to do that right now, says chief physician Johan Styrud.
