Karlskoga came to the home meeting with AIK with a 10-0 victory behind them. But despite the wind in the sails, Dennis Hall’s crew got off to a nightmare start.
Already after 37 seconds of play, AIK was able to break the deadlock through Richard Gynge, who scored his 19th goal of the season. But the joy in the away team was short-lived.
The playoff-chasing home team would turn the tables after a few magical minutes at the end of the first period.
Within three minutes and five seconds, Karlskoga was able to turn the 0-1 deficit into a 3-1 lead after goals from Hampus Plato, Gustaf Thorell and Viktor Lennartsson.
Karlskoga then took the momentum into the second period where Rickard Olsén was able to score the 4-1 goal with a quick wrist shot after 09:40.
Otto Stenberg would then also send in 5-1 in a free position before Anton Blomqvist had to rejoice at Oscar Nord’s 2-5 reduction at the end of the second period, a result that faced the closing act.

– It’s not just in one’s own zone. I think we lose most of the pucks in the offensive zone. They can turn the game around too easily, it’s just too bad.
But even though AIK got a bit of weather after Nord’s reduction, the guests did not manage to get closer to the home team, who were able to hold off and win by just 5-2.
The result means that Karlskoga takes important points in the fight to position itself for the upcoming play-offs. AIK, on the other hand, is losing ground in the fight for second place – which they still retain.
