The Vancouver Canucks started the newly concluded NHL season disastrously, and they slipped far behind their competitors. And the distance would turn out to be too great to reach the playoffs. And it was not enough that the team made an almost sensational boost during the second half of the regular season.
Made successful
The club made several changes in the sporting management, and under a new coach they really rose in the table, and in the end it was not far from being possible to reach the playoffs. But that was not the only reason the Canucks suddenly rose to the table.
Elias Pettersson started the season very weakly, but at the end of the season he played exactly as we are used to, and he ended the season by being completely superior. And there was a clear explanation for that. Elias Pettersson has for almost two years had problems with a hand injury, which a year ago kept him away from several months of play.
The play from the agent
In the autumn he was back from it, and played continuously, but afterwards he has admitted that it hampered him all the way until February. And then he poured in points. But now a new truth is emerging. Namely that Pettersson was hampered by the hand injury even during the end of the season, when he thus poured in points.
It is his agent JP Barry who comes up with the outcome, and he believes that the Swedish superstar has not been whole until now.
“It is the first time in a long time that he is completely healthy,” he says in the program.
The statement has of course made every Vancouver supporter rub his hands – because if Elias was so good at the end of last season when he was not 100 percent, how good will he be this fall?
“There is no chance that he will fall below 80 points next season,” says a supporter.
“It’s time for him to reach 100+ points,” writes another.
“We are only in July and I am already so tagged for next season,” writes a third.
