The age rating differs from part 1 in one point

Not only sci-fi fans are eagerly awaiting Avatar 2: The Way of Water. About a month before the cinema release, the US age rating of the film is now known. Like its predecessor, Avatar, the sci-fi sequel is rated PG-13 (some scenes may be inappropriate for children under 13). The written statement however, contains a small but subtle difference.

Avatar 2 Apparently There’s More “Nudity” But Less “Sensuality”

Because according to Filmratings.com it says “PG-13 for scenes of harsh violence, intense action, partial nudity, and language usage“. At the predecessor was here instead of “partial nudity” from “sensuality” (“sensuality”) the speech. What does this change mean?

The Motion Picture Association’s ratings aren’t a rigid analysis, one word here expressing a rather subjective observation at times. There is, however, one possible interpretation. Possibly became the first avatar due to its tame sex scene between Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana)”sensuality” certified.

Possibly come in the successor such “sensual“No scenes at all. What remains with regard to the scantily clad Na’Vi, however, is the “partial nudity“, i.e. a nudity that leaves out the genital areas, for example. So if you expect more Pandora sex, you will be disappointed. Fans should rather prepare for lots of exposed belly buttons.

Incidentally, there is no German age rating yet. In our opinion, with a view to the judgment of the MPA, a new classification from the age of 12 can be expected.

When will the sci-fi blockbuster Avatar 2 be in cinemas?

We’ll soon find out just how much Avatar 2 really lets the covers down. The film by exceptional director James Cameron will be released on December 14, 2022 in German cinemas.
