There Sigean African reserve is a zoological park Located in the Aude, near the Pyriac pond and about fifteen kilometers south of Narbonne. He is explored by car and on foot, but also with a guide. It is a unique opportunity to find yourself face to face with animals such as impalas, ostriches or even buffaloes. Animals have never been so close to you! In 2019, the African Sigean reserve celebrates its 45th anniversary and, for the occasion, the entrance will be free on your birthday!
The 7.5 km of the African Sigean reserve are traversed in different parts. First of all by car, for about an hour. In this conveyed area, you will cross the three parks of the African bush, and cross buffalo, zebras, sprinboks, impalas and giraffes. Your adventure continues on the Tibet bears park, then that of the Lions. Finally, you will arrive at the three parks of the African savannah, where white rhinos, sitatungas, tightle, and Somalia donkeys are waiting for you. It will then be time to continue your visit on foot. Along the ponds, you will see pelicans, storks and flamingos, and you can also observe the antelopes, the chimpanzees or the cheetahs from many parks. Make a vivarium stop as well as at home of the Aligators, in order to learn more about reptiles. This is a busy exploration day!
To visit The African Sigean reserveit is also to discover a typical flora of the Mediterranean climate. Farming plants such as thyme and lavender rub shoulders like Aleppo pine or cypress. The zoological park works for the conservation of species and also has an educational aim towards the general public. Every day, visitors take advantage of animations such as animal feeding or art exhibitions in the restaurant. Finally, the reserve offers coloring and observation notebooks for children: ideal for learning and exploring while having fun!
