The “acid man” Abdul Ezedi in London is probably dead

Twelve people were injured after a corrosive substance attack in Clapham, south London last week. According to the police, acid must have been thrown on a woman and her two children.

After the crime, the police released the picture and name of the 35-year-old Abdul Ezedi and a large manhunt began. A £20,000 tip was issued and the public was warned as he was considered dangerous.

Police: “Probably dead”

The intense hunt for the suspect Abdul Ezed has been going on for over a week and the police now have a theory – Abdul Ezed is dead, reports Sky News.

Surveillance images after the crime show Abdul Ezed walking with determined steps across Chelsea Bridge in central London. There he is said to have leaned out over the railings. These are the last traces the police have of him. Although no body was found in the water, the police believe he is dead and will now search the River Thames.

– It is quite likely that he has ended up in the water and will not appear for a month, it is not impossible that he will never reach the surface, says Jon Savell from the London police, adding that the most likely outcome is that he is dead.

Had a relationship with the injured woman

The police state that Abdul Ezedi is said to have had a relationship with the woman who was attacked and that this may be the motive for the acid attack.

“While we are still keeping an open mind, it appears that the motivation for this truly horrific attack is the breakdown of a relationship,” said Chief Constable Jon Savell at The Met.

The woman who was injured is said to have suffered serious injuries and has not yet been able to be interviewed by the police.
