Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella’s fiscal 2024 compensation rose 63% to $79.1 million in a year when the tech giant’s market value exceeded $3 trillion. Nadella, who earns $48.5 million in 2023, drove the increase as his stock awards rose to nearly $71 million from $39 million the previous year.

Shares of Microsoft gained 31.2% in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The company stands out in the artificial intelligence market with its investments in ChatGPT producer OpenAI. However, the $5.2 million in cash incentives Nadella received for the fiscal year fell short of the $10.7 million due to his request for a reduction following reported cybersecurity breaches.

Among other tech CEOs, Apple CEO Tim Cook will earn $63.2 million in 2023, while Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s earnings in fiscal 2024 are $34.2 million.
