Wolverine is probably the most iconic member of the X-Men. He has appeared in countless films, games and series. Of course, he has also had a variety of appearances in the comics. We present 7 unusual variants of the mutant here.
How was this list created? This list focuses on variants of Wolverine from the various comics. Also, these are all variants that are unlikely to appear in the MCU outside of brief cameos.
Who is Wolverine anyway? Wolverine is probably the most famous X-Men. His abilities are extendable claws made of adamantium and a healing factor. He is more of an anti-hero who often acts brutally and uncontrollably.
The character has built up a large fan base, which was also created by Hugh Jackman, who has played the role since 2000. However, he will probably never play the following variants.

7. Captain Logan
First appearance: 2009 in Wolverine #1
This story is like a classic noir detective story. An example of this genre would be Seven by David Fincher. In this story, Wolverine does not have skills and claws, but rather a gadget with claws that he uses in the same way as his well-known version.
He is a bootlegger and detective who is in love with Jean Grey in this world. During a fight with Cyclopse, he used his claw gadget to injure one of his eyes. Unlike his counterpart, he can get drunk and he probably is most of the time. (via Marvel Database)
The closest we’ve had to noir stories in the superhero genre is Nolan’s Batman trilogy or Netflix’s Daredevil series. A Wolverine story in this genre would be quite exciting as a standalone film or series without a universe.
6. Weapon Omega/Weapon X
First appearance: 1994 in X-Men: Alpha #1
Earth-295 was almost completely conquered by Apocalypse, who also killed large parts of the population. In this version, Wolverine is even rougher and more brutal than in the known version. When he tries to save Jean Grey and is stopped, he loses an arm, but later gets a metal replacement with which he can extend claws.
This Wolverine became really powerful as Weapon Omega. Through the Celestials he gained powers comparable to Apocalypse. And he wanted to destroy the earth and its inhabitants. Jean Grey ultimately stopped him. Later he atoned for his actions and wanted to kill his helpers. He said of himself that his guilt cannot be atoned for. (via Marvel Database)
Like most of the other entries, this story is incredibly complex and difficult to adapt to a film due to the large number of characters. At least in 2016, the iconic villain was seen on screen in X-Men: Apocalypse.
