The Uchiha Clan is one of the most powerful and popular clans in Naruto. But who is actually the strongest Uchiha? We took a closer look at the members and show you our top 7.
Spoiler alert: In this article you will read spoilers for the entire story of Naruto.
What characterizes the Uchiha clan? Uchiha are true masters in battle. Using their famous Sharingan, their Kekkei Genkai, and one of the three major Doujutsu (eye techniques), they can copy jutsus and predict moves. Many Uchiha are also known for their strong fire jutsus (Katon).
With the Mangekyou Sharingan, the Uchiha gain access to even more powerful techniques such as Amaterasu and Susanoo. However, this special Sharingan can only be obtained through deep trauma or the killing of a loved one.
The Uchiha clan was once the strongest clan in Konohagakure. However, the Uchiha had a difficult relationship with the other villagers of Konoha. The Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, founded the Konoha Military Police, consisting entirely of members of the Uchiha clan, to honor them.
But in reality it was a strategic move to push the Uchihas as far from the center of Konoha as possible. Because the village elders blamed the Uchihas for the attack of the Kyuubi (Nine-Tails).
In a tragic turning point in clan history, Itachi Uchiha, considered a loyal ANBU, plotted to wipe out his own clan to save Konoha from an impending coup – which ultimately led to the Uchiha Massacre.
How was the ranking created? The ranking was created by MeinMMO author Fabienne Kissel, a long-time fan of Naruto. She compared all members of the Uchiha clan and picked her top 7.
Honorable mentions
7th place: Fugaku Uchiha
Fugaku Uchiha, head of the Uchiha clan and father of Itachi and Sasuke, comes in last place in our Uchiha ranking. Fugaku was a strict and responsible father who had high expectations of his sons. He was proud of her skills and taught her fire jutsus (katon), particularly the Goukakyuu no Jutsu (giant fireball).
Fugaku was considered one of the smartest shinobi of his time and also possessed his clan’s Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan. He was heavily focused on improving the Uchiha clan’s reputation and position in the village, which caused tension with the villagers.
For Fugaku, the well-being of his clan was always a higher priority than that of the village. Eventually, he planned a coup to regain his clan’s power. However, his son Itachi thwarted this plan and wiped out the entire Uchiha clan, including Fugaku.
Although he did not achieve the fame of his sons, Fugaku remains a defining figure. His decisions and ideals significantly influenced the history of the Uchiha clan.
6th place: Izuna Uchiha
Izuna Uchiha was the younger brother of Madara Uchiha, and most information about him comes from stories by Itachi Uchiha, Hashirama Senju, and Tobi. He is described as someone who physically resembles Sasuke Uchiha.
Izuna respected and admired his older brother Madara and trained hard with him to become strong. He was a talented shinobi who mastered the Sharingan and the Mangekyou Sharingan.
The Mangekyou Sharingan is a further development of the Sharingan. However, this special Sharingan can only be obtained through deep trauma or the killing of a loved one. It grants the user powerful abilities such as Amaterasu (black flames), Tsukuyomi (a powerful genjutsu), and the Susanoo, a protective chakra spirit.
However, by using the Mangekyou Sharingan, the user gradually loses their eyesight, which ultimately leads to blindness.
The Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan (EMS) is a variant that occurs when the user has a close relative’s Mangekyou Sharingan implanted. This causes the eyes to fuse into a permanent form that no longer loses sight and is even more powerful.
Izuna died from his injuries after a battle against the Senju clan. According to Tobi, Izuna sacrificed his own eyes to strengthen Madara and help the clan, but the exact circumstances are unclear. Itachi claims that Madara took her by force.
