The 7 best tips you should know to get started

Palworld has launched on Steam. MeinMMO introduces you to the best tips for starting Palworld that you should know.

Palworld has started. But what is the best way to survive and what should you do to start? MeinMMO presents you with a whole series of tips and tricks that are intended to help you through everyday life in the world of Palworld.

Catch everything that comes your way

Basically, you should catch all the Pals you come across. Because this gives you the most experience points, especially at the beginning. You get a special XP bonus for the first 10 Pals of a variety.

Catching Pals also gives you significantly more experience points than crafting items or killing Pals or poachers. If you want to level up quickly, then you should concentrate on catching in the first few hours of the game and not shoot everything that comes your way.

It (almost) doesn’t matter where you put your first base

Don’t worry too much about where you put your first base. Because later in the game you can place production buildings such as a lumberjack and a quarry, which make you independent of natural raw materials.

If you still want to position yourself strategically at the beginning: At the beginning you mainly need wood, stone and paldium. You need Paldium if you want to make Pal Spheres (the “Poké Balls” in Palworld).

If you are still dissatisfied, you can move your base and rebuild it at any time. But be careful: when moving, all of your buildings will remain in their old places. Buildings that only work with the base will be destroyed and you will get your resources back.

A practical tip that helped us at the beginning: build your base on a cliff or on a hill. The enemy AI and its path finding are sometimes so bad that they can’t climb up the hill and you can make short work of the enemy raid. This is especially true for human poachers.

Pay attention to your Pals’ basic skills and passive abilities

All Pals have different abilities. For example, some are good at planting plants and others are more suitable as lumberjacks. Be sure to use a variety of skills in your base to keep your production flowing.

Another tip: Also pay attention to the passive skills. These come in three levels, which can be both positive and negative. These are always randomly assigned to the Pals. Normally there can be up to two traits per pal. But some have no or only one trait.

Skills such as “Workaholic”, which make the Pal work 30% faster, are particularly practical. Other passives like Lazy reduce speed by 10%.

Catch every shiny pal you can find

Shiny Pals are more or less the Shinys from the Pokémon world: In addition to the name of the Pal, a small star symbol also appears on the card, which indicates its rarity.

The Shiny Pals are larger than normal Pals and have much more health than the standard variants. They also always have very strong passive abilities, which are at the highest level at level 3. This gives you strong advantages for your base or in battle.

Different Pals appear during the day and at night

In Palworld, you can choose to go to bed at night and just skip the night because your Pals are also sleeping and not working. However, in some cases it can still be worthwhile to walk around outside. Because some Pals, such as the purple Deadream, only appear at night and can only be caught at night.

In some cases, however, nocturnal Pals also appeared during the day. However, this may have been a bug.

At night you can discover secrets better

Another advantage of the night: It is so dark at night that the so-called Lifmunk statues are very easy to see. Because they glow bright green and are therefore very easy to see at night. This way you can find these or fast travel points more quickly.

If you have problems finding the small statues, take advantage of the darkness.

Collect everything that shines and glitters

If you see something glowing and sparkling, you should definitely collect it. These can be various things that give you advantages:

  • Many resources, such as stones or wood, are lying around on the ground just waiting for you to collect them.
  • You can also collect skill fruits that you can use to teach your Pals new skills.
  • The green glowing figures on bases are so-called Lifmunk statues, which give you advantages when catching at the Statue of Power.
