The US Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the epicenter of the 6.9-magnitude earthquake in the Pacific Ocean was approximately 1062 kilometers southwest of Bluff port on the south coast of New Zealand’s South Island.
After the earthquake that occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, a tsunami warning was issued.
Authorities did not report any loss of life or property from the earthquake and tsunami.
