Ner’zhul, the Lichkönig

Ner’Zhul may have already been forgotten for many-or younger Warcraft fans may not know him anymore or at most as a boss in a dungeon in Warlords of Draenor.
But Ner’Zhul was very important for the story of Warcraft before. He was the leader of the shadow moon clan and survived the first war (the story of Warcraft I). He stayed on the Draenor and opened several portals to other worlds to escape the Legion.
However, he was quickly caught by Kil’jaeden and his body destroyed. He was then put in eternal ice and should again meet the task of submitting Azeroth: as Lichkönig.

Under ner’zhul the scourge grew on Azeroth. He recruited adversaries like Kel’thuzad and made sure that Lordaeron was consecrated by the downfall by building the cult of the damned.
Later he made Arha’s his champion as a knight of death before Arthas merged with ner’zhul at the end of “The Frozen Throne” and even became the Lichkönig. From then on, Ner’Zhul got a little back into the background, but was basically a “half” of the Lichkönig.
According to the fall of the Lichkönig, the soul is pulled by ner’zhul into the throat of the shadowland and tortured by the dungeon master. It ends as a boss in the sanctuary of rule – but there is not much to be seen from its old strength there.
