The 5 most powerful artifacts that you definitely want to get your hands on

In the multiverse of dungeons & dragons there are all sorts of magical artifacts. These are not only unique, but can also give you power that you definitely want to call your own. 5 We have put together particularly powerful for you.

What are artifacts in dungeons & dragons? Artifacts are extremely powerful, unique magical objects, each of which has their own history and origin. They live unimaginable forces.

They often appear when they are used the most or shake the world when they are found. In campaigns, they mostly serve as tools for history as classic equipment for the player characters.

That is why they are often the main goals of campaigns or later campaign sections. But using their power often has their price and if you want to destroy it, you often face big challenges.

Whether looking for a rescue or torn out of a powerful villain to save the multiverse: artifacts offer a wide range of options for your adventure – both for players and game leaders.

How was the list created? For our list we have selected 5 artifacts that are particularly powerful in your own way. We paid attention to the most various installation as possible so that every player and game master can find it. We have limited ourselves to the 5th edition taking into account the new rule books (version 2024).

In addition to the specified individual properties, each artifact has additional properties that can either be defined by the game master or can be rolled randomly. We disregarded these in the selection.

We decided against a direct ranking because the power of an artifact depends on too many factors to compare it well. So an artifact can be powerful because it can manipulate the world around itself or because it can do great damage – or because a player or opponent uses it smartly at a suitable moment.
