What is this list based on? In this list, we present you 5 MMORPGs that you can play on Sony and Microsoft consoles. The games were selected by MMORPG expert Alexander Leitsch, who played each game himself. The order corresponds to a ranking, with the best game on the last page.

    • What kind of game is this? In DC Universe Online you take on the role of a superhero or supervillain. You can then go into battle alongside well-known characters such as Batman, Superman, Joker or Harley Quinn and complete tons of quests and missions.

  • There are regular updates in the form of new story content and adjustments to existing content

    • In July 2021, DC Universe was also revamped to allow Free2Play players to experience more. For example, the new chapters and daily login rewards have been removed from the optional subscription and made available to all players. In addition, the maximum money and the housing system have been expanded. This makes the superhero MMORPG even more interesting, especially for newcomers.

    There is criticism for the outdated graphics, the rather low level of difficulty at the start and in the open game world, as well as the shop, which can be used to buy special superpowers that you cannot get otherwise.

    At the end of 2020, the developer of DC Universe Online surprisingly announced the number of players. At that time there were about 420,000 different players online per month and there were 40,000 subscribers.

    How well does DC Universe play on console? DC Universe makes a good impression on the consoles. The controls are intuitive and a lot of fun even with the controller. Graphically, the version from PS4 and Xbox One is in no way inferior to the PC, which was different with the previous generation of PS3.

    However, the crossplay distribution is a bit strange:

  • PC and PlayStation players share the same servers and can play together.
  • The Xbox version only appeared in 2016 and is currently still running on its own servers.
  • The Nintendo Switch version, which was only released in 2019, also runs on completely separate servers.

    • What has happened lately? In addition to the major revision for Free2Play players, a total of three new episodes were released in 2021, bringing innovations such as new areas, new missions, new raids and new gear to the game.
