She has not competed in the World Cup since 2021. But now the 45-year-old Finnish Riitta-Liisa Roponen is making a comeback.
The Finnish Skiing Association announces that she has been selected for the squad that will compete in Gällivare this weekend. Riitta-Liisa Roponen has a solid track record.
She has won a total of seven World Cup medals, three of which are gold, and an Olympic bronze from 2010. The 45-year-old has actually finished her national team career, but has kept up with the training. A few weeks ago she defeated by a clear margin Krista Pärmäkoski and Kerttu Niskanen in a competition in Olos, according to EPN.

Now the world cup in Gällivare awaits the fit veteran.
Finland lacks, among other things, Iivo Niskanenwho announced after the premiere in Ruka that he would not stand in Gällivare, and Johanna Matintalo who have tested positive for covid-19, reports EPN.
