After the recent start of the previous series 1883 (the 2nd Yellowstone series), 1923 takes us back, albeit with a new cast and at a new time, to the hard lives of American settlers. Anyone who thinks Montana cow breeders lived a peaceful life in the early 20th century should be convinced otherwise by Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) and his wife Cara (Helen Mirren). That makes the very first episode clear when Fast & Furious star Helen Mirren mercilessly shot down a cowboy and the Indiana Jones icon is ambushed.

As is the modern life of the Dutton family 100 years later (in Yellowstone), 1923 is from Intrigues and nefarious neighborhood fights shaped. Just this much: sheep farmers (Jerome Flynn from Game of Thrones) and landowners (Timothy Dalton from James Bond) are only dull fellows by trade and before long even the hardened Duttons are suffering serious losses.
The most exciting storyline in 1923, however, turns out to be big game hunter nephew Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar), who is looking for the meaning of life in Africa after the First World War and instead meets Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer). The love story and struggle for survival is perfect adventure cinema in series form and even if you only came for Harrison Ford, you will stay to the end at least for these two.
