Ing-Marie Wieselgren, 64, coordinator for mental health in Sweden’s municipalities and regions, died after being stabbed during Almedalen Week in Visby.
She received cardiopulmonary resuscitation when she was taken to an ambulance and taken to hospital. At around 8pm on Wednesday night, police said her life could not be saved.
The 32-year-old suspect is now wanted in custody on probable cause for murder. The arrest hearing will take place in Visby District Court on Friday.
