Bauer sucht Frau with Inka Bause has been flickering across our screens for 20 seasons and continues to delight millions of audiences today. But even the peaceful, feel-good show is not safe from scandals. These three moments provided the biggest shock moments in the show’s history.
Farmer is looking for a wife: These scandals shock everyone
Tattoo scandal at Bauer sucht Frau: These symbols have no place on TV
In the 18th season, horse manager Loretta was looking for her man for life, but one of her chosen ones caused a scandal with his body jewelry: some of his tattoos could be identified as symbols of the right-wing scene. The production team didn’t notice this during filming, but when it was broadcast, fans were outraged by the supposedly shocking tattoos. RTL drew conclusions and cut out the scandal candidate completely. The broadcaster appeared remorseful and promptly issued a statement:
Candidate Sven has tattoos that can be assigned to the right-wing scene. Since RTL strictly distances itself from any right-wing extremist ideas, he was cut out of the already filmed ‘Bauer sucht Frau’ program.
Animal protection files a report: This farmer was feeding his chickens
Anyone who loves animals has to be particularly strong now: in season 4 there was one of the worst scandals at Bauer sucht Frau. Farmer Hansi († 2019) shocked all of Germany when he blatantly showed his lady-in-waiting Marianne that how he could bring his beloved chickens to orgasm with his fingers. The woman from Hamburg was horrified and immediately left the yard.
The farmer was not aware of any guilt: he was happy, “When the chickens are happy.” The animal protection organization Peta promptly intervened and filed a complaint about animal cruelty.
It’s all fake: This farmer duped everyone
Bauer sucht Frau is all about bringing lonely farmers under the hood. In the fifth season, farmer Maurizio caused a real scandal: Because in truth he was not a farmer at all. The trained forestry specialist actually lived in a three-room apartment at the time of filming and had simply borrowed the farm from a friend.
RTL claims to have known nothing about the fraud; the broadcaster was also duped by Maurizio: “He had rented the house with the stable from his friend to live there over the summer, so he lived there for us.”
