A new bone belonging to little Emile was found in Haut-Vernet. An element likely to advance the investigation?

After the discovery by a walker of the skull of little Emile Soleil on March 30, a new bone was found in Haut-Vernet on April 3. This small piece of bone was identified as belonging to the little boy. It was in the same area as the little boy’s skull and clothes. Teeth were also found in this area.

“A small piece of bone belonging to Emile was actually found in the same area as the clothes, below the skull,” confirmed Monday the public prosecutor of Aix-en-Provence, Jean-Luc Blachon, to the AFP. “We do not know at this stage to what part of the child’s body it may belong,” he said.

If this new element was discovered on April 3, the results of the analyzes by the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie were only transmitted this Monday, April 8. According to Jean-Luc Blachon, this remains insufficient for the moment to advance the investigation into the cause of the child’s death. The first results do not allow us to decide between the different avenues put forward in this investigation.

Three hypotheses are thus considered: accidental fall, involuntary manslaughter or even murder. It is also not possible to say that Emile’s skull and his clothes were where they were found since July 8, the day the boy disappeared. They could have been brought back by a third party but also by an animal or even moved due to weather conditions.

To continue research, access to the hamlet is prohibited until April 15. Around a hundred gendarmes are still mobilized in the village area but there are no longer any experts from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie or dogs specialized in searching for human remains.
