Leopold Sédar Senghor died 20 years ago to the day. First president of Senegal, from 1960 to 1980, the first African to sit at the French Academy, the one called the ” poet-president »Was born in Joal, Senegal. But he died in Verson, a small Norman village, where he lived with his wife Colette from the 1960s until his death.

To pay tribute to him, nearly 200 residents gathered. With a prestigious guest: the recent Goncourt Mohamed Mbougar Sarr award. With whom they were able to discuss the figure of the poet.
