The city of Lisbon will host the start of the 2024 Tour of Spain, which will take place from August 17 to September 8, and whose first three stages will cross Portuguese territory, the director of the cycling race, Javier Guillén, announced on Sunday September 17. The Portuguese capital had already been the starting point of the Vuelta in 1997, during the first start of the Spanish Grand Tour abroad. Since then, the Vuelta has left the Iberian borders four other times. In 2009 she left from the Dutch town of Assen, in 2017 from Nîmes and last year from Utrecht, again in the Netherlands.
