In Pokémon GO you can do a lot of damage with Crypto Pokémon. But which are the best? We show you the strongest raid attacker by type.
What Makes Cryptos Strong? The Shadow Pokémon can be obtained by challenging Team Rocket’s Grunts or leaders, or by completing Shadow Raids.
The special feature: These monsters have a 20 percent attack bonus compared to their normal variant, which, however, also comes with a nerf to the defense values.
That means they hit hard, but can’t take quite as much. In addition, every Crypto monster has the useless Frustration attack by default. You have to get rid of it and replace it with a better move.
This can either be done with rocket events or via a detour using a second attack.
With the right attacks, however, the crypto monsters can be among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. This in turn can be very useful in raids.

The best Shadow Pokémon per type
How is the list created? In this list, we show you the strongest Crypto Raid attackers of each type using calculations from the “Gamepress.gg” platform. Both the damage and the endurance of the monsters are included.
Consider: The crypto does not have to be the best attacker of its type. If it is surpassed by other monsters, we’ll mention that here.
Psycho – Crypto Mewtwo
No surprise here, Crypto Mewtwo is at the top of the attacker list in Pokémon GO anyway, making it a top choice for the Psychic type as well. Can’t be found in the game right now, but was already available via Giovanni and Crypto Raids.

Steel – Crypto Metagross
And no surprise here either: Crypto-Metagross is already one of the top attackers and thus also dominates the steel types.
Attacks: Bullet Punch and Star Punch
Dark – Crypto Tyranitar
Tyranitar’s move change has greatly improved the old favorite, Crypto Tyranitar is now the rank 1 of all Dark Attackers. Decisive for this: The attack swirler.

Another doppler: Despotar is the top crypto choice not only as a dark attacker, but also as a rock attacker. Use appropriate attacks here. However, it is surpassed by Mega Aerodactyl and Rameidon.

Dragon – Crypto Brutalanda
A Crypto is also in first place among all attackers among the dragons: Crypto-Brutalanda is even a bit more powerful than its own Mega variant. Crypto Dragoran and Knakrack appear shortly after.

Ground – Crypto Mamutel
In the ground type, Crypto-Mamutel and -Knakrack are in a very close race for the title as the best crypto, which Mamutel will probably narrowly win according to the current status. Primal Groudon is at the top of the list.

Ice – Crypto Mamutel
Crypto-Mamutel is also ahead in the ice sector, even the undisputed number one including the non-cryptos. A moveset change from ground is needed.

Combat – Crypto Machamp
Machomei is and remains a classic, especially in the crypto variant. At the moment, only Terrakium and Mega Blarney are surpassing him in the fighting type.

Crypto-Raikou is the second best electric attacker behind Mega-Voltenso, but is currently unavailable. It was available through Giovanni for a while. If and when it will return is uncertain.

Gardevoir is the measure of all things when it comes to fairies. The Crypto version is the 2nd best attacker of the type, second only to Mega Gardevoir.

Beetle – Crypto Pinsir
Crypto Pinsir is currently the strongest Rocket Monster in the Beetle range, but Crypto Scizor is close. However, it is surpassed by other beetles such as Schabelle or the rare Ramoth, and even mega developments pass it by. Overall, Beetle isn’t particularly useful in raids either.

Fire – Crypto Lavados
Crypto Lavados is one of the Legendary Pokémon and was available from Giovanni. It is currently not available, but since Crypto-Arktos was last in the Crypto-Raids, it is at least conceivable that Lavados will move up at some point. However, it is surpassed by monsters such as Reshiram, Mega Charizard, and Mega Blahjack.

Flight – Crypto Lavados
In fact, Crypto-Lavados is also the best crypto here, and at the same time the number 1 flight attacker. All you have to do is adjust the moveset.

Ghost – Crypto-Banette
In the Cryptos, Banette is ahead in the spirit area. However, various other monsters are stronger, such as Gengar, Mega Gengar, Skelabra, Giratina, and Hoopa.

Water – Crypto Sumpex
Crypto Sumpex is extremely popular in the PvP league, but it also has the ability to deal a lot of damage in raids when the opponent is vulnerable to water. Surpassed only by Mega Evolutions for Blaster and itself, or Primal Kyogre.

Plant – Crypto-Tangoloss
A monster that you might not otherwise be aware of is Crypto-Tangoloss. This plays well with the best grass attackers, being surpassed only by Mega Venusaur and Mega Sceptile, and the Ultra Beast Katagami. A good option.

Poison – Crypto-sarzenia
Crypto Sarzenia is a good Poison attacker with the right moves, but is outclassed by Mega Gengar, Beibor, and Anego. Overall, poison is also a rather unimportant type for raids.

Normal – Crypto-Porygon-Z
Porygon Z takes the top spot but is negligible. With normal types you are usually badly advised in raids.
