In the stairwell, the 15-year-old lay dead in a pool of blood, surrounded by panicked family members.
In a nearby apartment, the 16-year-old suspect was with his mother and the family dog.
When the 16-year-old was arrested, he was perceived as “calm and indifferent” – and expressed that in the worst case he would be placed at LVU.
The 15-year-old was happy and full of anticipation for the upcoming graduation ball.
But just hours before the party, he was stabbed to death in his stairwell in Älvsjö with several stab wounds to the back and neck.
The suspected perpetrator, a 16-year-old friend, has said in questioning that he was “sad and stressed” after he stabbed his friend – but denied murder and stated that it all happened in self-defense after a dispute over money.
On Tuesday, the 16-year-old was charged on suspicion of murder.
– The investigation has shown that the defendant took a serrated barbecue knife to the plaintiff’s staircase and there dealt a large number of stabs, including to the plaintiff’s torso, head and neck, says prosecutor Ingrid Viklund in a press release.

Googled “zombie knives”
The 16-year-old suspected of murder has previously gone unpunished and is said not to have been involved in any violence in the upper secondary school he attended. He played soccer in the local team, hung out with friends and worked out at the gym. The family has been described as well-functioning.
But the 16-year-old’s mobile searches give a different picture of the boy. Among other things, he is said to have googled “zombie knives” and “what is the penalty for murder if you are under 18”.
He has explained the reason why he carried a knife with the fact that he feared for his safety.
“Many people are dying in Sweden right now and a friend was stabbed a month ago,” said the 16-year-old in questioning with the police after the murder.
Panicked family members screaming and collapsing
The officers who first arrived at the scene described chaotic scenes inside and outside the stairwell with panicked family members collapsing, screaming and banging on walls.
Shortly afterwards, the task force raided the 16-year-old’s apartment, where he was with his mother and the family dog. At the time of the arrest, he is said to have been calm and showed no remorse – but was instead described as satisfied that the gross suspicion would only result in LVU placement.
The main hearing in the case will tentatively begin on November 20 and is expected to last for four days.
