The selection of good MMOs and MMORPGs in early 2022 is quite large. Each game differs from its competitors. We have therefore selected the best 15 online multiplayer games that we would like to recommend to you. The majority of games are for PC, PlayStation and Xbox – but we also cover mobile games for iOS and Android.
What are these games? The selected games differ greatly from each other. Sometimes they are classic MMORPGs, sometimes MMO shooters or a battle royale. Even two mobile MMOs made it into our list. The order of the best MMOs and MMORPGs is chosen randomly.

What is WoW? World of Warcraft is the most popular MMORPG in Europe and North America. Blizzard has now released 8 expansions for WoW. It is aimed at solo players who want to experience the story, but also fans of dungeons and raids, which the game is regularly expanded to include.
WoW uses comic graphics that have been pimped up a bit over the expansions. In some places, the age is still showing, after all, WoW celebrated its 15th birthday. In the combat system, it relies on classic tab targeting.

What content does WoW offer? World of Warcraft offers you the opportunity to explore a huge world with a character and bring it to level 60 since Shadowlands. There is a lot of content waiting for you:
Shadowlands made a number of adjustments to the leveling process. As a new player you have a completely customized starting area and can choose which expansion you want to play and level in.
From level 50 onwards it goes into the shadow lands. A highlight is the choice between the 4 packages. You can join one of them and learn new skills as a result. Who’s speaking? Cortyn has been playing World of Warcraft almost since its release, joining with Ahn’Qiraj’s patch. Cortyn has been in charge of the MMORPG for MeinMMO since 2013.
Why is it worth playing in 2022? Even after many years on the market, World of Warcraft is still a rock-solid MMORPG that scores with one thing in particular: the sheer number of tasks.
With meanwhile 8 extensive expansions, hardly any other game can look back on such a gigantic game world as the World of Warcraft. Whether you’re an avid raider, chasing achievements, or wanting to indulge in the extensive pet battle system, World of Warcraft still offers interesting content for a variety of player types.
Visually and atmospherically, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has upped the ante and convinces with content that at least every MMO fan should have experienced at least once.
Storylines centered around well-known Warcraft characters like Jaina and Sylvanas make WoW a worthwhile excursion with plenty of opportunities to kill hundreds of hours.
What are the problems of WoW? Probably the biggest problem of World of Warcraft in 2021/22 is the dry spell of new content. Because since the release of Shadowlands in November 2020, no major content patch has appeared. The Patch 9.1 Chains of Dominion update had been a month-long wait and caused dissatisfied players who slowly but surely had everything settled in the shadow lands. Subsequent updates were also rather sluggish.
WoW was in a very unfavorable position in 2020, because the “Battle for Azeroth” expansion at the time was not particularly well received by many players. Many new systems that were not thought through to the end or linked together, the grind for artifact power and the ongoing frustration with RNG caused displeasure among players.
Shadowlands itself was much better received. In the meantime there has been a big outcry about the Thorghast instance, but Blizzard has reacted and made adjustments.
The mood in the game is generally rather positive, but this is probably also due to the fact that there is a noticeable improvement every week. However, the mood has been turning negative for a few weeks. This is due to the long wait for new updates, which many players are simply fed up with.
