The 100 year record in the number of deaths was broken

The decrease in the population of Bulgaria by 11.5 percent in the last 10 years has caused concern. National Statistics Institute (NSI) President Sergey Tzvetarski, in his meeting with the members of the “Bulgarians Living Abroad” of the Parliament, who interpreted the census results last year, said, “The population has decreased by 844 thousand people in the last 10 years. 53 percent of the decrease is the number of deaths from the number of births. It is due to the fact that it is too much, and 47 percent is due to immigration.” Said.

BULGARIANS IMMIGRATE TO EU COUNTRIES

“According to the official data of NSI, 147,727 people died in 2021. Considering that the number of people who died in 1918, when the First World War took place, was 151,525, we see that a record was broken in the number of people who died in our country last year. The Kovid-19 epidemic. The annual deaths in pre-Bulgaria were around 107 thousand.

Ganev argued that the vaccination campaign in Bulgaria should be “much more aggressive”.
