To the north of Le Havre, in Seine Maritime, are the cliffs of Etretat. A well-known seaside resort, the small town is famous for its limestone cliffs coming up against the sea spray of northern France. Landscape as beautiful as tortured, it inspired Monet and Maupassantamong others.
