There are many bad MMORPGs, but most of them are not even tested. But which games attracted attention and then disappointed anyway? We at MeinMMO would like to answer this question and therefore look at the average ratings at Metacritic.
What is this list? This list focuses solely on reviews from Metacritic testers. We compare the result for the base game to release. It is important that an MMORPG must have at least 5 tests to be included in this list.
Some titles are therefore not represented at all:

5th place – Kingdom Under Fire 2
setting: Medieval Fantasy | developer: Blueside | platform: PC | release date: November 14, 2019 | Rating on Metacritic: 62
What kind of game is this? Kingdom Under Fire 2 was a Korean MMORPG with some innovative ideas. It wanted to mix the MMORPG and RTS genres and thus create interesting raids and battles for fortresses.
The troops at your side accompanied you in dungeons, raids for up to 16 players and some PvP modes. With your troops and the hordes of opponents, epic battles were created.
At the same time there was an open world and PvP arenas in which you only controlled your character – like in an MMORPG.
What is the best rating on Metacritic? Kingdom Under Fire 2 got an impressive 75 from MMORPG.com. The tester said he had a lot of fun with the gameplay, but was disappointed with the gender lock in the classes and couldn’t find any groups for the PvE content shortly after the release.
In North America, finding a group was a big problem. This was also criticized by other reviews. In fact, German players in particular were very impressed by the concept of the MMORPG. Almost all of the world firsts in the raids went to us.
What is the worst rating on Metacritic? TheGamer only gave the game a 40 and justified this mainly with problems in localization, technology and the long shifts. In addition, a lack of diversity in the female characters is a major point of criticism in the list.
How is the MMORPG doing today? On October 26th, 2021 the MMORPG was discontinued here in the West. The fans of the game blame the publisher Gameforge, who did too little advertising and brought new content too slowly.
However, Kingdom Under Fire 2 was not well received around the world either, and was shut down in Russia, Malaysia and other regions as well.
