In Pokémon GO there is a bonus in the current event if you develop Pokémon. We explain what it is and why you should use it.
What kind of event is this? The Carnival of Love event is currently taking place in Pokémon GO. This runs until Thursday, February 15, 2024, and brings you, among other things, a number of event Pokémon and a collector challenge that you can complete within the event.
There are also two bonuses active during the event that make it easier for you to collect the coveted XL candies. And you should use one of these bonuses if you still have Pokémon that you want to evolve.

XL candies in the focus of the bonuses
What bonuses are these? On the one hand, you have an increased chance of getting XL candies when you are traveling with your buddy Pokémon. On the other hand, there are 2 guaranteed XL candies when you develop a Pokémon. And above all, this bonus can be very worthwhile.
Why is it worth evolving Pokémon with this bonus? You need the XL candies to level up your Pokémon once they reach a certain level. Although there are several ways to obtain XL Candies, they are few and far between and you need many to get your Pokémon to the highest level.
The guaranteed XL candies are therefore a good bonus if you still have Pokémon that you want to develop and whose level you want to increase. Many of the strongest Pokémon want to run 5 km with you as a buddy Pokémon so that you have a chance at an XL Candy. In this case, you save yourself a whole 10 km of walking to get to the coveted candies.
Which Pokémon are particularly worth the bonus? If you even have a Cosmog to develop or a comparable legendary Pokémon, the bonus is even more worthwhile for you. You have to walk 20 km with legendary Pokémon to get the chance to get an XL candy this way. Here you can save a whopping 40 km. Zygarde’s change of form also counts as a development here.
