Even though Nathan Fillion is known to most film and series fans from formats such as Firefly, The Rookie or Castle, the actor can look back on a remarkable history as a superhero actor. Not only does his filmography include entire four different (!) MCU rolesFillion has also been involved in numerous DC projects.
Nathan Fillion’s MCU story began with Guardians of the Galaxy
Marvel fans were recently able to see Nathan Fillion on the big screen as a voice actor in Deadpool & Wolverine. The John Nolan actor, along with other stars such as Matthew McConaughey and Blake Lively, lent his voice to a Deadpool variant that Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine have to deal with in the final battle of the film. In the English original, Fillion is known as Headpool listen.
Fillion’s MCU story began ten years earlier with Guardians of the Galaxy, as the actor has a long history and friendship with director James Gunn. Similar to Deadpool & Wolverine, he lent his voice to a rather inconspicuous character: an inmate who threatens Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) in prison. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Fillion returned once again, but in a different role.

In a deleted scene from the superhero sequel, Fillion appears on film posters as the well-known actor Simon Williams, who later becomes Wonder Man in the comics. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Fillion was seen in a completely different role: as the Orgoscope security chief Master Karjawho even appears in several scenes this time.
According to CBR, Fillion has played more different MCU roles than any other actor. Apart from Marvel mastermind Stan Lee himself, who appeared in 22 MCU films until his death.
