On April 8, “Married at First Sight” premiered on SVT – for the tenth time.
During the anniversary season, eight new singles will be released, matched by the program’s experts Kalle Norwald, Frederick Bohm, Maria Farm and Hana Jamalisay yes to each other just seconds after seeing each other for the first time.
After that, they must live everyday life together, and then decide whether they want to continue to be married or not.

Since its premiere last week, “Married at First Sight” has generated engagement in social media as usual. And one detail that both viewers and television viewers reacted to this year’s season is the young age of the participants.
The average age among the participants is 28 years, while the participants in last year’s season were 34 years old.

One of those who reacted to the fact that participants are younger this year is Expressens Fanny Sword.
“What rubs me this season, though, is the age of the contestants. I miss my 40-somethings, those who have children, those who have lived, who have matured into themselves and had several long-term relationships in the past. There is the golden age of ‘Married ‘-participants and it will be homework for the experts before the next casting round: age is an important facet of diversity in addition to ethnicity and orientation,” she writes in a chronicle.

When News24 asks the production if the younger cast is an active choice during the casting process answers Kristin Bleckbergwho is project manager for the program, as follows:
– It may be true to some extent that the cast is somewhat younger this year, however, it is marginal and the majority of the participants are usually around 30 years old. It is not a conscious choice other than that these four pairs were the best matches the experts could find this time.
According to Bleckberg, the age of the couples usually varies from year to year.
– Most often, however, we have had a couple in their 40s mixed with younger ones, which is not the case this year, and therefore the whole cast can possibly feel younger.
