When the experts pair up love-hungry singles in Married at First Sight, they put together a complicated puzzle.

Future dreams, interests and personality traits must be compared before presenting the final pairs.

News24 have talked to Kalle Norwaldsexologist and expert in the program, who reveals why they put Rosanna and Christoffer together.

– There is a lot that people think rubs off, he tells Nyheter24.

Here are the ones who didn’t get to be in Married At First Sight

Kalle Norwald: “Trying to match people’s wishes”

Married at First Sight is a program for those looking for a long-term love relationship. Kalle Norwald says that the experts get to know the candidates well before they decide who will marry.

As a sexologist, he has primary responsibility for factors such as sexuality, sex and dreams.

– I also talk to the participants about how it will feel to be seen on television, and rewritten in newspapers. It could be difficult, he says.

The match is not about ordering a partner from a catalogue, but there are usually pluses and minuses with each match.

Kalle Norwald believes that something that looks good in theory does not always work in practice, but the experts try to give the pairs as good odds as possible.

– We try to match people’s wishes, insights and dreams as best we can.

Many who apply to the program want to get out of previous relationship patterns, for example placing too much emphasis on immediate attraction.

– After all, everyone who has seen the program knows that some participants end up there anyway. But that is because we are people who easily fall into the same habits again. That is why there are four therapists who can help, continues Kalle Norwald.

When the experts paired Rosanna and Christoffer, that was exactly the mistake they wanted to avoid. Kalle Norwald also says that the experts saw many similarities in the couple.

– They had a lot of common values, politics, common interests. Things that simply unite them, he says.

Despite this, Rosanna and Christoffer seem to struggle with their differences in the first few episodes. They don’t know how to communicate, and to viewers, their interactions can be perceived as cold.

Kalle Norwald understands the feelings of the viewers, but he does not completely agree.

– There is a lot that people think rubs off. But what appears to rub off, is also part of their humor, which many do not understand, but it will become clearer in the future.
