Rasmus Gozzi is the man behind the artist Fröken Snusk, and they have become some of Sweden’s most played artists. But he has also been accused of manipulating the number of listens. Accusations he denies in After Five.
For several years, the Uppsala-born artist Rasmus Gozzi has worked with music, both for other artists but also in his own name. Since 2016, he has also released a song every Friday. Some of the artist’s most famous songs are Klamydia and Strypsex in your garage.
But the big breakthrough came in 2022 when he created the phenomenon and artist Ms. Snusk. Together, they are some of the Nordic countries’ most booked artists, and their song Rid mig om en dalahäst has over 70 million plays on Spotify. But perhaps most famous is the fact that Miss Snusk wears a mask and hides her true identity.
– You want something that catches attention. But once someone is hooked and watching, then they have to find an interest. Then I thought – mystery, he answers the question about why Miss Snusk wears a mask.
Releases song with Gunilla Persson
Now the artist and songwriter has made another collaboration, this time with the reality profile Gunilla Persson. The song that was released on Friday is called Viva La Gunilla.
– It feels great and exciting. She is fun to work with, he says.
He also believes that Persson is enterprising and easy to work with.
– She is tough but fair.
The storms of criticism
At the beginning of the year there was quite a storm both around Gozzi himself and Miss Snusk. Several of their songs suddenly disappeared from Spotify and they were accused of manipulating the number of listens. A few weeks later, however, the songs were back on the music service again. When the artist during Friday’s After Fem is asked if he manipulated the number of listens, he answers quickly.
– No.
However, manipulated listenings were not the only thing that attracted attention last spring. The artist and songwriter has also been threatened with a lawsuit from electric kick company Voi for trademark infringement. This after releasing the song Voi til min fuckboi, where Miss Snusk sings about riding an electric scooter drunk.
– We have started negotiations so now we will see how we proceed, says Rasmus Gozzi.
